Beginning the 2007-2008 school year, through a partnership with the Pickaway County Educational Service Center, the county and city school districts began offering on-line computer education.
Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) is an online educational delivery system. It offers over 80 full year and semester courses for students in grades 2-12. Each course is fully aligned to Ohio's Academic Content Standards. VLA can be used to service any student that the superintendent deems necessary.
A distinct advantage of Virtual Learning Academy over any of the other on-line schools is VLA is sponsored by your school district. Successful completion of VLA coursework -- along with passing the Ohio Graduation Test and successful completion of your district's prescribed minimum number of credits -- will earn your child a diploma from his or her home high school.
More information can be found at http://www.virtuallearningacademy.net/ or if you would like to complete an application for enrollment, you can go to the top of this page and click on Downloads & Links and click on the Virtual Learning Academy Enrollment Application located under the heading of General/Misc. Forms. You can print the application and return it to your school district for appropriate approval and signatures.
