Pickaway County ABLE offers classes that are free and open to the public. Participants need to be at least 18 years of age. Students aged 16 or 17 are permitted only if they are legally withdrawn from school on a full-time work permit.
Classes are located at various locations and held at different times through the day and evening. Participants are free to come and go according to their own schedules within the time periods that classes are open.
Materials used in the classes cover basic skills and GED preparation. Most of the instruction is individualized, but sometimes small-group instruction is also used. Students who are studying for the GED will first be given materials to help them prepare for the test. When the classroom teachers feel that students are ready, they will be given the opportunity to take an Official GED Practice Test.
Persons who wish to attend class need to first call and register for orientation. Please call Brenda McMahon or Nancy Moshtaghi at (740) 477-2927 or visit them at the Circleville ABLE site, 115 Island Road, Circleville, Ohio 43113, across the street from Job and Family Services.
